Brother and Sister's Room, Mother's Day, and other Randomness...

While Joel was in Boston, Wally and I set up Brother and Sister's room. We now have a crib, changing table, twin mattress, and chest of drawers. Now we only need some kids to fill it! We are getting closer as the "Referral clocks" are ticking away. It looks like 5-7 months before we get our referrals though. Wally loves Brother and Sister's room, and Fire Dog too!
Wally drew this picture on the door all by himself. This was the first time I had really seen him draw a face (that actually looked like a face). He also wrote his name. There is a big W followed by an extra tall A. To the left of the face there are two little Ls with a Y on top.
The beauty of a clear shower curtain. The water hitting the curtain looks really neat, at least in big versions of the pictures.

Oddly, we hadn't had spaghetti for a long time, so we had to have a photo shoot!
Just like the cartoon!
One afternoon, I found Wally working very hard in Brother and Sister's room. He had brought in his stuffed animals and the pillows from the end of his bed. He had the animals piled up with the pillows on top and was trying to put one end of the pillows under the mattress and keep his train basket on the other end. When I asked what he was doing, he very simply stated that he was "making a lever." He worked and worked and worked...

and finally his persistence paid off...

I'm banking on him being an engineer some day. He is really into how things work. The other day he was explaining to me how the electricity goes from the light switch through a pipe to the fans and lights to make them work. He also had to explain to Gramma Kathy how the toilet works. You can't explain that without taking the cover off the back...everytime you flush!
We turned the jets on during bathtime one night. Jets are a bit better at making bubbles than the faucet. Wally was sitting as tall as he could in these pictures!
We've had to do bubbles many more times since this now that he isn't scared of the jets anymore. The benefits of being "a big boy!"
"Bubbles Song"

Mother's Day was nice. We went to church in the morning and after nap we got some Chinese take-out and went to the lake for a picnic.
Wally had a great time playing in the water (even though we told him not to get wet because it was too cold). I guess he is a boy though! Well, what am I saying, I would have been wet and muddy at his age too!
Something about that boat dock!
Sticks are pretty cool too!
